Our Team

Chef Christian Blouin brings over two decades of experience—and an unwavering love for downtown Frederick—to the kitchen at 7th Sister. He’s served as Executive Chef at both Firestone’s Culinary Tavern and Hootch & Banter. Lives in downtown himself, Christian’s connection to the community runs deep. Known for his thoughtful, unpretentious approach to cooking, his style is rooted in the seasons, inspired by the Mid-Atlantic, and grounded in care. Over the years, he’s built trusted relationships with local farmers, bakers, and butchers—many of whom are behind the ingredients on your plate. His food doesn’t shout—it tells a story. With every dish, he honors tradition while gently pushing it forward, creating meals that feel both comforting and quietly unexpected.

The Partners Behind 7th Sister

We didn’t want to see this house go quiet. When the lights dimmed and the space stood still, we felt the weight of what could be lost—not just a restaurant, but a gathering place in the heart of Frederick. Rather than let that chapter end in silence, we came together out of a shared love for this city, its creative soul, and the story this historic home still had to tell. That’s how 7th Sister was born: a new vision rooted in hospitality, shaped by memory, and open to community.

Together, the four of us—Carrie Delente, Tim Defoggi, Clark Kline, and Sarah McCullough—joined forces to bring life, flavor, and imagination back to 228 Market. Through our partnership with the nonprofit SilverVox, the house now supports not only food and fellowship, but also film, music, and performing art. We like to believe the Houck sisters—devoted champions of culture and civic life—would be proud to see their home filled once again with purpose, creativity, and people who care.
